The Biddulph Ramblers

Working for Walkers

We extend a warm welcome to all walkers wishing to walk with us.

We are a friendly group based in and around Biddulph and we enjoy walking throughout the year in all sorts of places and conditions led by our volunteer walk leaders. We are blessed with such lovely countryside around us with the Peak District only a short distance away. We walk mainly on Wednesdays alternating between shorter (4-5 miles) and medium (6-8 miles) routes, and on Sundays (7-10 miles). During the Summer we also walk short local Thursday evening routes. Each year we have group holidays and coach trips. All of our activities are run by volunteers.

Non-members are most welcome for up to three trial walks. Members from other Ramblers groups and areas are always very welcome too. Please wear sturdy shoes, carry a waterproof, bring a drink and a bite to eat.

So, go on, give us a go. You will find the Biddulph Ramblers very welcoming. Rambling is a fantastic way to get fit and to stay fit, and a wonderful opportunity to socialise as much or as little as you wish to.

Breaking News

Some members are reporting that they are not receiving the weekly bulletin emails from our Walks Programme Coordinator, Derek Lowe. This seems to be mainly (but not exclusively) affecting email addresses on sky.com, yahoo.com and yahoo.co.uk.

If this is happening to you, please look in your Spam (or Junk Email) folder. If you find the missing emails there, open each email and click on the button marked "Not spam" or "It's not junk". The email should disappear and move to your Inbox - where they will, of course, be merged into your existing inbox content, sorted by date and time originally received, newest first, so you may need to scroll down to see them. However, this may not fix the problem for all such emails. Ad hoc emails with a different subject line from the usual one, such as the two sent out on Friday 27th Feb 2026, may still get classified by your email provider as spam (junk).

The best way to fix this problem permanently is for you to add the sender, Biddulph Ramblers, to your Contacts. The exact way of doing this varies by email provider, and there is often more than one way of doing it, but the first step is generally to hover your mouse cursor over the sender name (Biddulph Ramblers) in the email header, and look for a clickable button labelled "Add to contacts". On Outlook.com (Hotmail.com),  you can click on the sender name and then click Contact > Add to contacts.
