The Biddulph Ramblers

Working for Walkers

Such a beautiful morning, bright blue sky and already warm at 9.30am. 24 members met for the 4.5 mile

walk, led by Eddie Dawson. From the car park at Smokies Way we walked along Biddulph Valley Way

toward Whitemoor. Fields on either side of the track showed that the farmers had already been busy,

as there were plenty of hay bales to see. We carried on and eventually  came into the lane that came

out by the side of the Castle Inn. Crossing over the main road we again we again moved into fields,

with grazing cattle. As we approached a stile a bull decided to join us, and by the noise he was making

he let us know he was`nt happy at being disturbed! Thankfully Eddie managed to keep him occupied

until we all managed to climb over, but it was close! From Nick"o" `th Hill we moved down into Willocks

Wood, and had some beautiful views. Finally into Wedgewood Lane Gillow Heath and back to the cars.

A really lovely morning with friends , many of us looking forward to the coach / ramble in Shrewsbury

tomorrow. Thursday 4th
