The Biddulph Ramblers

Working for Walkers

Wednesday`s 4 mile walk led by Karen Newsome started with the sun breaking through, after the

very stormy night before. 27  members and 3 youngsters met by the side of the impressive water

tower in Hanchurch Hills, where we started down the lane to pass Keepers Cottage before turning into

woodland and heading toward Shelton under Harley. we had shelter from the sun for large parts

of the walk but like last week the vegetation had increased dramatically in height, and lots of us

were caught by the nettles. We also had a large patch of water, following the heavy rain covering a

path to negotiate with varying degrees of success.

Our last drinks break was taken below the lovely setting of Acton Hill Barn, and then we continued

on our way back to the cars. Another enjoyable walk.
