A change in the weather on Wednesday 15th July 2026 so we started with a warm cloudy morning rather than the recent intense heat, but we did have sun later on.
28 members met at the Royal Oak pub in Rushton Spencer for the 4 mile walk with the option to stay for lunch afterwards, arranged by John & Moira Lyne.
The route took us from Sugar St over fields and surrounding lanes, through overgrown paths and rocky stiles in this pretty area, with lovely views as we climbed higher. We returned down Tanhouse Lane to the Leek/ Macclesfield road, crossed over into Station Lane and joined the track alongside the Knot Inn for a short stretch before turning off left to return to the cars, and lunch.
Pleasant conditions for our enjoyable walk.
